Introducing our 2019 vintage wines

It has been an incredibly busy two months - releasing our two new white wines, caring for the vines during this strong growth period and managing the vineyard building development as it picks up a pace since lockdown (all whilst doing everything possible to keep everyone safe).

The release of the Bacchus and the Solaris 2019 wasn’t as we’d hoped in terms of a major launch event in the vineyard. However, introducing this vintage to you through our private tasting appointments in July has been a fantastic way of meeting people and chatting about the wines and our future plans. We’ve had plenty of fantastic feedback and it’s true to say, you love the wines. I would go as far as to say, you were more than a little surprised that we could produce such great wines so far north! We’re enormously proud of our English wines grown in North Yorkshire.

In the vineyard, it is exciting to see this year’s harvest coming along beautifully. We’re delighted to have our volunteers back to help us tend to the vines too. We’ve been tying them in and de-leafing to divert energy to the grapes instead of the canes. Do get in contact if you would like to join the volunteering team.

Meanwhile indoors, the building work has picked up. The two tasting rooms we are creating are starting to take shape and the huge 27ft by 8ft mural of Roman Aldborough by Yorkshire artist Lynn Ward is coming along brilliantly. These two tasting rooms will seat up to 12 and 50 people with views over the vineyard and will be where we intend to host wine events, tours and tastings.

Since we launched our 2019 vintage wines with the private tasting appointments, we’re now adding a tour to enable visitors to experience more of the vineyard, so why not head over for a vineyard visit this summer. We look forward to seeing you.

Enjoy a bird’s eye view of the vineyard to give you an idea of what to expect.

Lynn’s mural is coming along nicely, here’s a few images to give you an idea of what’s to come.
