31st January 2013 - Leeds Teaching Hospitals Expands use of the Reset Competence Verification System

One of the UK’s biggest NHS Trusts, Leeds Teaching Hospitals Trust is expanding its use of competence verification system Reset Certification Scheme with the installation of a further 2 self-service check-in screens at its Chapel Allerton and Seacroft Hospitals.

Leeds Teaching Hospitals have been using Reset for over 12 months to verify the competence of individuals coming on site to work. They already have Reset Access touchscreen terminals installed at Leeds General Infirmary and St James’s Hospitals. Reset cardholders are able to check-in to site, select specific areas they are going to be working on, read any notifications and accept their risk assessments and method statements all via the touch-screen terminals. This enables the estates and facilities staff to focus on the tasks at hand, safe in the knowledge that only competent individuals from pre-approved companies are being permitted entry to site.

The expansion of Reset within Leeds Teaching Hospitals is a further endorsement from the Trust who were closely involved in the development of the check-in system in 2011.

Additional Information

Reset is a competence-verification scheme that saves time and resources in the process of admitting third-party contractors onto any site, while ensuring full legal compliance.

With one scan of a Reset card, companies bringing workers onto site can verify that they have all the skills and qualifications necessary, without having to wade through reams of paperwork. Reset ensures compliance with all HSE legislation by facilitating fully traceable checks on all contractors and their employees.

Reset also helps contractors to fulfil their legal obligation to ensure their workers are fully qualified and competent to carry out their duties. For individuals working on sites, a Reset card means no more waiting around while documents are checked, and no need to carry around valuable certificates and identity documents. All an individual’s qualifications and identity data are stored centrally and securely – and can be accessed in an instant on any internet-enabled device from a single Reset card.
